What is SSS Salary Loan and Who May Qualify
SSS Member Loan
A salary loan is actually a short term loan offered to SSS members by the Philippine Social Security System to meet any immediate need for cash by any SSS member. The next question would probably be who can qualify to make an SSS loan? So far, in the SSS website, there are basically 5 pointers with which any member may qualify for a salary loan. Please read below.
Who Is Qualified to Make a Loan? (info taken directly from SSS website – www.sss.gov.ph)
1. An employed, currently paying self-employed or voluntary member (SE/VM) who has 6 posted monthly contributions for the last 12 months prior to the month of filing of application.
- For one-month loan, the member-borrower must have 36 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.
- For a two-month loan, the member-borrower must have 72 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.
2. If the member-borrower is employed, the employer must be updated in contributions and loan remittances.
3. The member-borrower must be updated-current in the payment of other member loans, which include educational, stock investment, MADE & housing loans granted under the Unified Housing Loan program (UHLP) or direct from SSS.
4. The member-borrower has not been granted final benefit (total permanent disability, retirement and death).
5. The member-borrower has not been disqualified due to fraud committed against the SSS.

Hi good pm po … pwede po bang magtanong kung pwede na po ba akong makapagloan, my contribution is 41 na ,hindi po ba updated ung website nyo sa SSS, kasi hind ko po nakita ung contribution ko last year 2011, the whole year. Nakapagtataka nmn na wala akong contribution last year, samantalang kinakaltasan nmn ako buwan buwan ng employer ko.

I just wanna ask, I am qualified to apply for my salary loan but what if I have previous loan from pag-big and am not sure if its fully paid, can I still continue my application for sss salary loan?

I have a previous loan which was supposed to be settled by end of December 2011. My employer already had it paid with my contribution (this was reflected with my online sss account). I have plans of filing a new loan this February 2012 (since I will be eligible to do so according to the site), but the sss online system says I’m not cleared with my last payment. I’m just wondering how long would it take to update your system so I can file my new loan. I just hope before February ends, everything in your system will be updated. Thank you so much!

Can I ask if I am still qualified to be a member and continue my contribution in SSS if ever my citizenship has been changed from Pilipino to American? if no what will happen to my previous contribution til present? thank you.
Hi, I have a similar inquiry made by Angel F. Castano on August 2nd, 2011 at 12:54 PM which says:
“noong 1995 nag loan ako ng halagang php 50,000.00 para sa Stock investment, and privatization fund. ng meralco share, saan ko ba pwede makuha ang stock certificate?”
I am not sure if there is already a reply on this.

The teller told me that my loan check will be available after five days. I signed up on SSS online and in just 3 days my Loan Status says that my check was already generated. Can i claim it now even if the the 5th day hasn’t come yet??

I worked for 7 months on my second job then was stopped for 4 months and came again to the same company and started working again for a month. Can I make a salary loan then? But on my previous job I worked there for 7 years. And was not able to make any loans. This was long time ago and stopped for about 3 yrs working.. I filed a salary loan last March 27, 2012 and I still haven’t received it. I asked the SSS Pasig branch. They said It’s already in the post office.
But It’s almost 1 month now. And I check my sss site, the check was dated March 30, 2012.But still I haven’t got it! Where can I claim it??

Hello I am currently not in the Phils., because I am trying my luck here abroad, I have a question I have a pending loan on SSS when I resigned from my previous work 6mos. ago and my previous Company’s HR is saying that I would not be able to get my last pay because they would be paying my SSS loan (using all my last pay), is there such policy? bec. I am a member of SSS for almost 11yrs. I am really planning to pay for my loan every month if I would have a job here abroad…why is that my company would pay my SSS loan using all my last pay?…can I request SSS to just pay for it every month, instead of getting all my last pay? please help me because right now my Family in the Phils. needs that money. My mom took advantage of her salary loan since God knows when… Apparently, months after she cashed it, she resigned from her work… She is worried that she might not have her pension since she still owes you guys… Im planning to pay it for her… Is it possible we can do a direct payment to SSS?

Hi, regarding sss 2nd loan… I avail my first loan last 2011 then from my previous employer I’ve decided to work in other company then my company where I’ve transfered continue to pay for my remaining balance then after 6months I decided again to work in other company, my previous employer decided to pay all the remaining balances that i have.. Now that i am working in a different company I want to avail my second loan but unfortunately the loanable amout is only P14000 … I thought its more than 20000 for the second loan?
