So how do you really continue your SSS contribution if you haven’t been able to pay for it in months or in some cases, for years? Here is a short tip so that you may know. Now, there are surefire reasons why you would ever want to continue with paying your monthly remittance to the Social Security System agency in the Philippines.

The first reason is so that later on, you could be able to file for a bigger loan to use for whatever purpose it may serve you and your family and personal needs. The second most popular reason is because you are soon going to reach your retirement age of 60 years old and for some security reasons, you wanted to reactivate your account knowing that you will receive a bigger monthly pension later on for being an active paying member of the SSS in the Philippines.
Now, with the top 2 reasons I have listed and explained above, it would become self-explanatory to most SSS members that it is a good thing to decide while it’s not too late to reactivate or continue paying your monthly dues to this agency of the Philippine government. I hope I made it clear to all who might find this post as all I wanted was to give some light to those who are having a hard time to understand and comprehend why it is important to active or reactivate a delinquent/stagnant and left alone member account with the SSS.

Let’s go to the main dish.. If you want to continue to pay the monthly remittance amount to SSS, you have to first know which category you might qualify for. If you have a business and you also have the necessary documentary requirements that the SSS will ask from you based on their standards, you can qualify for a self-employed status and pay probably a bit higher than those who opt in for the voluntary contribution.
After knowing which category you fall, you are ready to pay and everything else has been arranged including the requirements that you will have to give or pass to the agency, the last thing you should give importance to as I’ve previously mentioned above is the amount of contribution you are either willing to pay or you can afford to pay.

If you are to ask me which amount to remit to the SSS as part of your account reactivation, I will pay the highest amount possible regardless if I am a self-paying or voluntary paying member or self-employed member. Why? simply because just like what I have said above, the rule of thumb with loans and pension in the SSS is that “THE HIGHER THE MEMBER CONTRIBUTION / REMITTANCE YOU PAY TO THE SSS, THE HIGHER THE LOAN YOU CAN APPLY FOR AND THE HIGHER THE REGULAR MONTHLY PENSION YOU WILL RECEIVE WHEN YOU REACH RETIREMENT AGE”.

I use to contribute my SSS but since I stop working last July 2012 my contribution was stop. I’m housewife now and doesn’t have work and I want to continue my contribution is that possible and I want to know what are the requirements for paying the contribution. I am a voluntary member but failed to remit for the months October, November and December 2012. I remitted for December 2013. How can I contribute for the last three months that I didn’t make payments? Can I just belatedly contribute ? Are there penalties? Please advise. Thanks!
Good day to you! I worked from December 1982 to January 1997 and didn’t continue paying my dues since then. My last SSS contribution was when I received my separation pay in January of 1997. How much pension should I receive at age 60 having contributed for 14.1 years? Thank you and more power.

1. paano ako nakasiguro na akin yong number na venirify.
